You also agree to abide by the following code of conduct:

1) No pornographic images of any kind. Even if it says "NSFW (Not Safe For Work)", this is a student community and should be kept as such.

2) vCE Notes will always be a safe community environment for all denominations of society. This means no racism, homophobia, or discrimination of any kind. Any comments making mass generalisations on the basis of sex, race, religion, or sexual preference must be supported by citable empirical evidence. VCE Notes takes a zero-tolerance policy to such bigotry.

3) No excessive swearing or flaming. We are 16, 17 and 18, so the occasional "fuck" or "shit" will be permissible, but anything to excess, especially when it's a flame and directed to somebody to cause angst will be dealt with in varying punishments such as deletion of said post up to a temporary ban. Repeat offenders will incur longer temporary bans and even permanent bans if behaviour is bad enough.

4) Privacy. Everyone is entitled to it. This is another zero-tolerance policy. If you reveal any identifying details about another member against their will, you will be instantly banned. That includes surnames, e-mails, phone numbers, addresses etc. And don't think you're clever by revealing something not on this list - These rules are flexible.

5) No trolling. This rule is open to the interpretation of the moderators, but loosely defined it means: No being a twat for the sake of being a twat.

6) A person must not make defamatory remarks directed at other people, whether VCE Notes members or not. 

7) A person must not post private correspondence (PMs, emails, etc.) or transcripts of private conversations unless all parties identified in the correspondence consent to the posting of the private correspondence.

8) A person must not post off-topic comments.
(a) In determining whether a post of off-topic, moderators are to consider the following (amongst other
relevant things)-
(i) the offending post as compared to the other posts in the thread
(ii) the offending post's interference with the line of otherwise on-topic discussion in the thread.
(iii) the offending post's humour

9) Any posts directly advertising a competitive link, I.E. "Go here! BETTER FORUM!!!!!11" will be deleted immediately and the poster will be issued a warning.
(a) Any repeat offences will be rewarded with another deletion and more warnings.
(i) On the third or fourth offence, the offender will be banned for 1 day.
(ii) On the next offence, the offender will be banned for up to 7 days
(iii) Any repeat offences, the case will be referred to the administrator for possible permanent banning. 

10) Users will not attempt to impersonate other users, especially staff.

Statement of interpretation:
These rules are left up to the interpretation of the moderators. If you have complaints, personal message my account or e-mail admin@freestudynotes.com. At no time will you make a complaint about a specific violation and subsequent punishment by a moderator/administrator public.

Statement of punitive action:
Punishments will be doled out by moderators on a case-by-case basis. I believe it is futile to set an "oh this gets 1 day-ban and that's a lifetime-ban" policy. I believe the staff I have selected is more than capable of deciding when it is appropriate to ban or simply delete a post, or just give a warning. Again, if you feel you have been unfairly punished, you are more than welcome to contact me personally via PM or at my e-mail: admin@freestudynotes.com. Again, at no time will you make a complaint about a specific violation and subsequent punishment by a moderator/administrator public.
